Single-segment 100% speed run of Metroid Zero Mission, done on May 23 2004. Was the world record until July 31 2004.
Author's comments: Well, I'd like to thank AJ for the route, which this run closely resembles. There were a couple items I got at different times than he did, but the overall time it takes to get those items is pretty much the same.
I originally started doing single segment runs because I was getting extremely frusterated when something wouldn't go perfectly on my segmented runs. I completely suprised myself when I managed a time 1 full minute faster than my old time on my first single segment run. At that point I decided to continue with single segments, and aimed for a sub 1 hour time.
Overall, there were very few mistakes, with none costing me more than 10 seconds (I think...I don't have the tape here to double check =P ). After this I'm aiming for a sub 59 minute run, which I've determined is quite possible after totalling up all of my mistakes. After that I'm on to Hard 100% (I'm coming for the record AJ ;) )
